TPU

Thermoplastic polyurethanes, also known as polyurethane rubber, belong to a class of elastic polymer materials with more carbamate groups (- NHCOO -) in the molecular chain. It is prepared by reaction of diisocyanate with polyether or polyester polyol with hydroxyl terminal and chain extender with low molecular weight diol. As a new kind of thermoplastic material, TPU has a wide range of hardness and can be used as soft and hard materials. It is non-toxic, pollution-free, recyclable and has developed rapidly in recent years.

Achieved UL Yellow Card verified V0 (1.5mm-6.0mm), fully support cables products to pass the VW-1 or IEC60332 flame retardance tests.

Improved Antistatic Resistance

Aiming at some special applications, TPU materials are antistatic modified to show its permanent antistatic resistant character (surface resistance 106-109), and excellent shading properties as well.

The halogen-free flame-retardant TPU materials support the cable to pass UL758/1581 105°C temperature resistance test (136°C/168h).

Improved Environmental Resistant Performance

TPU is improved in the performance of UV resistance, mold resistance (GJB), hydrolysis resistance, chemical resistance, etc., to show higher security level and satisfy special requirement of its cable and optical cable jackets:

  • Mold-resistance: Pass the Chinese National Military Standard (GJB 150.01A) 0-1 Grade mold resistance test (with test report);
  • Hydrolysis-resistance: support cables to pass 1000h hydrolysis resistance test (85 ° C / 85% RH, 1000h); pass the 168Hrs thermostatic waterbath test (80℃/168Hrs) with the strength change rate ≤ 30% and elongation change rate ≤ 35%;
  • Oil-resistance: Support cables to pass 70℃/24h oil resistance test with the ?change rate of strength and elongation ≤30%;
  • Acid and Alkali Resistance: Support cables to pass the acid and alkali resistance test at 23℃/168h with the strength change rate≤ 30%, and the elongation rate is≥ 100%.

Improved Processing Performance:

  • Extrusion Grade TPU:The fluidity and crystallization rate of TPU materials are targeted to be improved to fully meet the requirements of wires, cables and optical cables jackets filling, semi-filling, empty tube extruding, and high-speed ultra-thin wall (≤0.1mm,80—200m/min) extruding. High extruding yield rate and deterioration performance like salivation, skin breakage, granules, rough linen, die marks and irregular shape seldom occurred. And this keep good stability of line diameter and roundness together with wires, cables and optical cables high-speed extrusion.
  • Injection Grade TPU: Good moldability, easy demolding, raising the injection yield greatly.
